Known for his distinctive slant on modernist techno and experimental club music, Batu has built a sound defined by bold shapes, percussive rhythms and meticulous sonic detail. Utilising modern software to create a singular sound signature. 

A landmark 2025 marked a double celebration: 10 years of his future-facing Timedance label and five years of En Masse Festival, a platform rooted in Bristol’s innovative electronic music scene. The year also saw the release of his Question Mark EP, alongside production work for FKA twigs and PinkPantheress, a collaboration with Tikiman and a remix for Tricky. He was also named by Mixmag as one of the DJs that defined 2025.

As a DJ, Batu moves fluidly between the intimacy of underground spaces and major international stages, with standout sets in 2025 at Dekmantel, Draaimolen, We Out Here, Houghton, Rainbow Disco Club.His creative practice also extends into soundtrack work, including scoring a short film Stepney Western, directed by Harry Lawson.
