Outdoors >>> Mister Sunday: Earth Week Benefit for Sunrise Movement

This Sunday is an important one. Mister Sunday is hosting an event on the climate crisis and raising funds for Sunrise Movement.

Sunrise is dedicated to helping young people in the US organize strikes, sit-ins, panels and speaking events to address the climate crisis. 10% of the profits from the party will go to Sunrise, and at 3pm, when the doors open, they’ll host a panel inside with Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, State Senator Julia Salazar and City Councilman Rafael Espinal, three local politicians who have made the climate crisis central to their work. They’ll be talking about how to take real action against climate change.

There’ll also be booths where you can register to vote and chat with representatives from Sunrise about how to get involved, and we’ll have a few boxes at the bar and the door in case you want to donate personally.

In the back yard, Justin Carter will DJ from open to close. Get that guy a drink.

If you can’t make it on Sunday, please consider making a donation to Sunrise Movement. The solutions to climate change exist, and groups like Sunrise are making sure they get put into action.
