On Fridays, we party. The sounds can vary, but the vibe remains the same: good.
This go around, Nowadays’ own Eamon Harkin shares the hi-fi with the one and only Joy Orbison.
Eamon is a co-founder of Nowadays, one half of Mister Saturday Night, an accomplished producer and a skilled selector. He’s got a long dance-floor resume, which explains his laser-sharp ability to work a room into a frenzy.
Over the past decade, Joy Orbison, real name Peter O’Grady, has emerged as an icon of London’s electronic music scene. His releases on Hotflush, Aus Music and Hessle Audio, as well as those on his own imprints (Doldrums, SunkLo, Hinge Finger, Toss Portal), have destroyed so many dance floors they should come with insurance policies. He’s a master of subterranean bass and syncopated rhythms and you’ll be lucky if he lets you up for air before daybreak.
