Backyard Listening With James Friedman

Every Friday and Saturday night at Nowadays, we invite one of our favorite vinyl selectors down to pull out their dream backyard barbecue set to make the vibe right while you have a drink, grab a bite, play ping pong, lie in the grass or all of the above.

Tonight marks the start of our annual Oktoberfest get down, Nowafest. To celebrate, we’ve invited the one and only James Friedman to play a set of German-influenced cuts. James has been a vital part of New York dance culture for over a decade: he launched Trevor Jackson’s Output Recordings in the U.S., co-created the underground-dance mainstay Throne of Blood and was an original resident of Mister Saturday Night. We’re thrilled to have him play. Fans of Kraftwerk, Nina Hagen and Kompakt, believe us, you don’t want to miss it.
